Equipment

Metals Engineering continually invests in industry-leading equipment and software, allowing us to deliver impressive results for every customer.

Growing to Serve You Better

An early investment was a Spinner Hanger Blaster from the DeLong Equipment Company. This automated, programmable blasting unit cleans castings and large parts that cannot be tumbled by hanging them from an overhead conveyor. The cost savings and quality of the output are superior to manual cleaning efforts, with the added benefits of improved worker safety and quick turnaround times.

High-Quality Solutions for Jobs of All Sizes

Car Bottom Furnaces

  • Our car bottom furnaces feature:
  •  Automated ramp and hold rates
  • Load sizes up to 60,000 pounds
  • Furnace sizes up to 102” wide, 96” high and 228” long
  • Capable of holding temperature uniformity +/- 15 degrees (F)

Batch Furnaces

Batch furnaces come in a variety of styles including car bottom, box, pit, or bell, and operate with or without a controlled atmosphere. Batch furnaces handle one workload at a time and may be integrated with material handling. Our batch furnaces are capable of processing parts in endothermic gas or inert gasses.

  • Automated carbon-controlled processes
  • Load sizes up to 10,000 pounds
  • Furnace sizes up to 60” wide, 48” high and 60” long
  • Capable of holding temperature uniformity +/- 5 degrees (F)
Induction Units

Induction heating accomplishes metal hardening by introducing electrical current to the material. With our equipment we capture and record data for each item run through the system, ensuring consistency in hardened areas an depth of hardness for parts.

Metals Engineering has multi-spindle and single-spindle units and is capable of designing tooling to meet specific requirements for unique parts.

  • Vertical scanning units with polymer quench can harden rounds and sprockets
  • Scanning capabilities up to 15.5” diameter for round parts, with a scan length of 44”
  • Induction hardening capabilities for internal splines and diameters
  • Hardening depths up to .250”
  •  Coil design for unique parts and applications
  • Quality management software produces repeatable results
